Rock Walls and Raised Beds

Initially rocks were salvaged from different areas around campus with the aid of the cement mixing wheel barrow.

Once salvage supply was deleted rocks were ordered from outside the campus

Rocks were simply placed along perimeter of garden and also used to terrace the mound of dirt that was shaped into a multi-level growing space of perennial plants

      Why Raised Beds?

Conserves water by creating a specific zone for watering and loose soil for proper draining.

Eliminates soil compaction by providing aerated area for roots to spread.

      Confines plants and reduces weeding.

Elevates plants to comfortable working level

      Aesthetically pleasing.
